"We believe that childhood is a precious time, and that every child has the right to be heard, to be challenged, and to be celebrated for who they are."
— Claire Kilian, Director
At Morley Early Learning Centre, our philosophy is simple: children are competent, curious and capable from the moment they are born. Our role as educators is not to fill them with information, but to create a rich environment where they can explore, question, build relationships and develop the confidence to take on the world.
We follow a play-based, child-led approach grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework. That means our days are not rigidly timetabled. Instead, our educators observe what each child is interested in and respond — extending a building project here, suggesting a new song there, helping a child resolve a conflict with a friend.
Morley Early Learning Centre has always been intentionally small. We have three rooms, one director, and a stable team of educators who know every family. We chose this scale because it allows us to genuinely know each child — their personality, their strengths, their challenges — in a way that big centres simply cannot.
